I recently purchased a SIM7000 shield from Amazon, along with a LiPo battery. The battery says it has a 4.2V charging limit, and this seemed common so I assumed it was normal and not a problem, but I see other batteries that don’t specify that limitation so now I’m not sure if the shield is going to try to charge it a 5V and burn my house down.
Can anyone advise?

Haha do not fear, the shield is meant to charge standard LiPo batteries up to 4.2V. If you check a fully-charged 3.7V LiPo battery, it'll be closer to 4.2V.

Ooooh, I get it. The charging limit means the voltage at which it is fully charged, not the maximum voltage you can safely apply to charge it.
And now it occurs to me that I don’t actually know what the voltage is between a battery’s terminals is when you apply a larger charging voltage. Clearly I don’t know much about batteries.
