Recently, with the help of bendory
, the entire SIM7000 Arduino library found here on GitHub
has now moved to a new repository
in order to meet the specs of the Arduino Library Manager in the Arduino IDE. In the Library Manager, search for "botletics" and you should be able to install the library directly.
The major change is that the library name was changed from "Adafruit_FONA" to "Botletics-SIM7000" to remove Adafruit FONA library dependency. This way, installing both will not create a conflict. However, this change means that the names of classes within the library have also changed from "fona" to "modem", which means that code you have previously written won't instantly work with the new library without slight mods. That being said, you can still download the legacy code releases from the old GitHub repo here
We are excited that this change will make installation and updates much easier and cleaner! 😁
