I bought the SIM7000A shield and have tried it with Ting and Tmobile mobile number in the US. Everything connects fine and I can send and receive SMS messages but noticed about 1 out 4 incoming messages is delayed by 30-40 minutes. Here is a log of what is happening:
notice the ones that fail in the CMGR string have the correct time it was sent, in the 9:55 example it arrives at 10:48 (48+ minutes late) but inside the message it says 6:55 (I think there is a 3 hour offset for time zone/gmt) Sending outbound messages is fine.
I called Ting and they said they only support B12 which I think the SIM7000A does but I have read other doc that says the SIM7000a is only supported by ATT and Verizon. Someone else tried hologram with the same results in incoming messages are slow to arrive periodically.
This is driving me crazy, desperately looking for a solution here or if someone can explain what is happening. Was hoping someone else is using this device in the USA and can confirm they always receive incoming messages right away and what mobile carrier they are using.
